Black Space Winnipeg is heading into 2017 strong. February marks a very important month. For 28 days, we want to celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth in a way never done before. Although it is insane to attempt to confine a groups' history into the shortest month of the year, we hope to host an event series around the city that both embraces and celebrates Afro-Canadian history authenticity. Since March of 2016, Black Space has advocated for the Black community of Winnipeg. From hosting the first Black Lives Matter rally to taking over art festivals(Nuit-Noire - Nuit Blanche) and hosting events that provide safe spaces for people of colour, we take pride in representing and building for our community.

Help us raise funds for Black History Month, a chance to run events that celebrate our triumphs and achievements both local and abroad. We cannot do this alone and need help from our community. Spread the word and help to make Black History Month a true success in Winnipeg.

We are thrilled and eager to start building a more inclusive Winnipeg and we could not have gotten this far without the help of our allies and friends. Thank you for your growing support!
